Julija Fricsone-Gavriss is an award-winning production designer from Northern Europe, now based in Berlin and working internationally.
Julija's keen eye for color, texture, and composition shines through in her versatile portfolio, spanning feature films, commercials, and art projects, earning her numerous wins at prestigious festivals across the globe.
Her latest feature film Last Swim won the Crystal Bear at the Berlinale in Generation 14plus competition.
Driven by her passion for sharing knowledge, Julija has also taken the stage as a speaker at renowned festivals like Berlinale, Ciclope, and OFFF, where she shared insights into the art of world-building and the integral role of production design in storytelling.
Outside of the film and commercial industry, Julija's work has been exhibited at prestigious venues such as The Centre Pompidou, Summerhall Edinburgh, Panorama Berlin gallery, and Brown University, among others.
Her work was awarded in festivals such as Cannes Lions, British Arrows, Berlinale, Clio, UKMVA, Shots Awards, Webby, One Club, D&AD, LIA, Ciclope, Camerimage, Raindance, Kinsale Sharks, Eurobest, Epica, Golden Drum, Staff Pick, BMVA, Paris Film Festival, Berlin Commercial, Cresta Awards and others.
